Human-centered design in practice
We use human-centered design to help our partners gain a deeper insight into social challenges and design innovations that stick and scale. Here are a few of our projects:
ETHNOGRAPHIC RESEARCH
Unlocking women’s potential one hour at a time
Globally, women do 3x more unpaid work than men.
We spent eight weeks living and working with women in rural India to find out why.
We translated the findings to actionable opportunities for design, and partnered with a grassroots organization, Educare, to design and test a women-led micro-enterprise concept to address the unpaid work gap.
BUSINESS DESIGN
Increasing access to higher education
We partnered with Quicksand Design Studio & Hansa Education to launch a startup to tackle India’s college affordability crisis.
5 DAY IMMERSION
Exploring rural entrepreneurship
We spent a week working at a roadside tea stall in rural India, shadowing Om Prakesh to understand the role of small businesses in rural livelihoods.
